    This virtual CMTE will be filled with multimodal learning experiences including educational slides, videos, discussion, models, and guided applications, led and supported by multi-credentialed professionals: Brittany Rosado (MusEd & MTBC) and Joseph Jones (MS.Ed, MT-BC, Doctor of Psychology Candidate).

    Presenters

    Brittany Rosado, MM, LPMT, MT-BC is a seasoned music therapist with nearly a decade of clinical experience dedicated to transforming lives through the therapeutic power of music. Her journey began at Pennsylvania State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a Minor in Special Education. It was here that she cultivated a profound understanding of music’s potential to address the diverse needs of individuals, particularly those with special needs.

    Brittany pursued a Master of Music in Music Therapy from Florida State University. During her studies, she delved into interdisciplinary research, with her thesis focusing on the intriguing intersection of music preference, workout efficiency, and perceived energy exertion among collegiate football players. This research highlighted Brittany’s innovative approach to music therapy and her commitment to leveraging psychological insights to enhance therapeutic outcomes.

    Brittany’s background in education has helped to develop a rich understanding of learning psychology, which she seamlessly incorporates into her music therapy practice. Throughout her career, she has worked across various settings, including private practice, educational institutions, hospitals, mental health facilities, elder care and rehabilitative centers. She has also has provided several professional classes, trainings and lectures. Brittany is committed to advancing the field through research, education, and clinical practice

    Joseph N. Jones, MS.Ed, MT-BC is a Doctor of Psychology Candidate specializing in School Psychology, currently completing his predoctoral internship in clinical neuropsychology within the Pittsburgh Psychology Internship Consortium. He holds a Masters in Child Psychology from Duquesne University and a Bachelor’s in Music from West Chester University, with additional training in music therapy at Immaculata University. 

    With a rich background in child psychology and music therapy practice, Joseph brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to his work. Joseph’s diverse clinical experience encompasses roles in private practice, educational settings, and specialized rehabilitation settings. These various roles have included conducting comprehensive neuropsychological/psychoeducational evaluations, providing individual and group therapy, and consulting on academic and behavioral interventions in schools.

    In addition to clinical experience, Joseph has served in various leadership roles within student organizations. He has participated in research focusing on educational psychology and neuropsychology, as well as contributed to multiple professional presentations on these subjects and various music therapy topics. Overall, Joseph’s work is characterized by his commitment to improving the psychological and educational outcomes for children and adolescents.

    Statement of Relationship to CBMT
    Educational Theories and Music Therapy is approved by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) for 5 credits. Noteable Progressions Music Therapy Services (P-199) maintains responsibility for program quality and adherence to CBMT policies and criteria. 

    CBMT Learning Objectives:

    • Participants will obtain a thorough understanding of 6 major educational theories.
    • Participants will learn to apply education theories and techniques to music therapy practice.
    • Participants will gain knowledge and tools for science-based advocacy.

    Cancellation and Refund Policy
    If the continuing education opportunity is cancelled by the host, refunds will be issued within 14 days of the cancellation. Otherwise, refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to the Continuing Education Director and accompanied by a thorough explanation. Refunds are granted or denied on a case-by-case basis. No refunds are given after 14 days of purchase date.
